Tips for Life

Enjoy The Moment!

Rambling post… 🙂

Things have gotten so crazy, haven’t they?

Schools closed, restaurants providing only drive-through or delivery, bare grocery store shelves, church services shut down, events canceled, people getting sick…

It is so easy during times like these to be fearful, upset, or impatient with how things are going.  We may be afraid someone we love will fall ill, or we’re impatient about the lack of things available in the stores.  Your vacation is canceled or a long-awaited event is postponed till later.

I have been seeing a lot of posts recently about things to do at home when you can’t go out, and it sort of makes me wonder what we all did for fun before?

Just because things are a little crazy, life doesn’t need to stop!  We can still get up in the morning, have our coffee, and do the things we need or want to do.  Reading some news headlines makes me think that many of us don’t know what it is like to be stuck at home, or without things to keep us entertained.

I understand that this is a very serious problem in the U.S. and in other countries, but let’s not be discouraged about it!  We don’t need to sit around home and think up things to do.

Do the things you know you need to do, then take some time to do something fun.  This is the perfect chance to excel at a hobby or spend quality time with your family.  There is no one formula or method on how to spend this time, just do something.

Recently, I took the time to try a new recipe for Chicken Enchiladas!  They were delicious.

My younger sister and I threw a tea-party for our mom.

Our family has been watching some movies and last night my mom and I played several board games.

Our dear neighbors let us come over and soak in their hot-tub while they are away.  It was such a treat!

I’ve had extra time to sleep in and spend more time in the mornings talking with my mom while we drink coffee.

While we shouldn’t make light about everything that is happening, we need to keep doing the things we need to do and also take time to relax.  This is precious time.  We may never have another time in our lives where we can spend so many hours together with the people we love.

No matter where you are, shut inside your house or quarantined, you can make the most of where you are.  Be different.  Show people, you aren’t afraid by living courageously during these uncertain times.  Let Joshua 1:9 be your motto.

And hey…it is an ideal time to work on your WIP…just thought I’d mention that for all writers!

  1. Lol, yeah, I’ve heard people talking about how hard it’s going to be to have to stay home, and I’m just over here like “YES!! MORE WRITING TIME!”
(and then I still end up procrastinating *facepalm* XD)

  2. I completely agree with you!!! I’m actually excited to have all this extra time at home to work on all my March goals and writing and everything else I never get to!

  3. You are so right about everything you said Laura. It is the time to spend together with family. Life will go on once this Cornavirus is over. I love your stories! Keep up the good work. Hugs.
